Security Officer (Night Shift)
Location: Bluemoon Shopping Centre, Great Soppo, Buea. (Adjacent to the CBC Soppo Field Head Office).
Work Schedule: Night Shift, 10 hours (8:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
Reporting To: The Management of Bluemoon Shopping Centre.
About the Role:
The Management of Bluemoon Shopping Centre is seeking a vigilant, honest, and proactive Security Officer for the night shift. This role is essential for the security and nightly upkeep of our multi-tenant building. The successful candidate will be compensated by the collective contribution of the building's tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Security & Surveillance Duties:
1. Conduct scheduled and random foot patrols of the entire building perimeter, common areas, and parking zones to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
2. Access Control: As shops have independent access, you will be responsible for visually verifying that all shop entrances are properly secured. A primary duty will be to tie a rope or chain across designated walkways and entries after a specified hour to clearly demarcate areas that are off-limits for the night.
3. Monitor the premises to prevent theft, vandalism, trespassing, and fire hazards.
4. Record Keeping: Faithfully fill the Security Attendance Register at the start and end of each shift. Write and submit a detailed Daily Security Report outlining all activities, observations, and incidents.
5. Respond promptly to any security alarms or suspicious occurrences and contact law enforcement or emergency services if necessary.
6. Provide courteous assistance to tenants, their clients, or visitors when needed during the shift.
7. Enforce the shopping centre's night-time regulations.
B. Cleaning & Maintenance Duties:
1. Primary Duty: Thoroughly clean and sanitize the two (2) public restrooms in the building every night (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors).
2. Perform light cleaning of common areas (lobby, staircases) as required, including sweeping and mopping.
3. Keep the immediate surroundings free of litter.
4. Report any maintenance faults (e.g., broken lights, water leaks) to management in your daily report.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Security Officer, Watchman, or in a similar role.
• Physical fitness for regular patrols and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Impeccable honesty and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to act independently and make sound judgments at night.
• Willingness to perform the cleaning duties as described.
• Basic literacy for writing clear reports and filling registers.
• Residence in or around Great Soppo is a strong advantage.
