We are seeking a visionary and experienced Manager to lead our operations in Buea. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all strategic and operational aspects of the institution, ensuring compliance, driving growth, and maintaining Nkwaccul's commitment to financial inclusion and community empowerment. This role requires exceptional leadership, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the microfinance sector in Cameroon.

Location: Buea, Cameroon

💼 Duties and Responsibilities

The Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key areas:

       Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the business strategy to ensure the institution meets its financial and social performance targets (profitability, portfolio growth, outreach).

       Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, including lending, savings, accounting, and administration, ensuring efficiency and adherence to policy.

       Risk and Compliance: Establish and monitor effective internal controls and ensure strict compliance with all national microfinance regulations (COBAC) and internal policies.

       Financial Oversight: Manage the budget, monitor financial health, optimize resource utilization, and present comprehensive financial reports to the Board of Directors (BOD).

       Team Management: Recruit, train, motivate, and mentor staff, fostering a high-performance culture focused on client service and ethical practice.

       Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary liaison with the BOD, regulatory bodies, partners (like RainbowcaM), and the local community. 

       Business Development: Drive the expansion of Nkwaccul's client base and product offerings to deepen financial inclusion in the region.

 

👤 Person Specification

1.  Education and Qualifications

       A Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.

       A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CFA) is a significant advantage.

2.  Professional Experience

       Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in the banking, microfinance, or cooperative credit union sector.

       At least two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management role overseeing multiple functions.

       Demonstrable track record of managing a significant loan portfolio and achieving growth targets.

3.  Core Competencies

       Exceptional Leadership and People Management skills.

       Strong financial analysis and risk management capabilities.

       Proficiency in microfinance software/MIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

       Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (fluency in French is a strong asset).

       High level of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to Nkwaccul's social mission.
